With Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party starting at the Magic Kingdom this week, it has me daydreaming about the parties I attended in the past. Disney goes all out at Christmastime and MVMCP is one of the highlights. The decorations on Main Street and throughout the Magic Kingdom are beautiful and Cinderella Castle draped in icicles is breathtaking!
The Christmas Party offers character dance parties in both Tomorrowland and Frontierland, Christmas themed shows and complimentary cookies and hot cocoa at various locations throughout the park. The party is a great time for character meet & greets for those not so commonly seen characters, including the Seven Dwarfs and Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws, as well as the Fab Five in their holiday best. The party also has a holiday version of Celebrate the Magic and Wishes that should not be missed.
But, the absolute highlight of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade. The parade runs twice during the party (8:15pm and 10:30pm), with the second one generally being less crowded. It starts in Frontierland and ends near the Firehouse on Main Street. My favorite spot to watch the parade is on Main Street near the Cinderella Castle. But, this area fills up quickly. Make sure to get your spot AT LEAST a half hour before the parade begins if you want to view it from there.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a fun time for the entire family and a great way to get into the holiday spirit!
Helpful tips: MVMCP is a special event that takes place at the Magic Kingdom on select nights from early November – December and requires its own ticket. While the party runs from 7:00pm – Midnight, party goers are able to enter the park as early as 4:00pm. Event merchandise sells quickly and can only be purchased during the party. So, make your event purchases early in the evening. Fastpass+ cannot be used during the parties, so it is best to make a plan ahead of time if there is a certain ride or character you want to see. There are advance purchase savings as well as Annual Passholder and Disney Vacation Club discounts on select nights. Because these parties often sell out, purchasing your tickets in advance is strongly recommended. Have any of your own tips to share?…Click Here.
