I recently returned from my second trip to Aulani. To my surprise, I loved it even more the second time around. There have been a few pool additions since my 2012 trip including Ka Maka Grotto, an infinity pool that looks out over the ocean and Keiki Cove, a children’s water play area. There has also been the addition of Ulu Café, a much needed quick-service restaurant.
Some of my favorites from last time, were still there including Mickey’s Shake-a-Shaka Pool Party, the Waikolole Stream, a lazy river that runs through the resort, MoÓlelo Fire Pit Story telling with uncle each night and the Starlit Hui, a lively evening show that includes hula, live music, and a dance party with some Disney friends.
This trip I also found the time to check out the Laniwai Spa, which will be added to my must-do list the next time I go! I also discovered the Menehune Adventure Trail which is a high-tech scavenger hunt that takes place throughout the resort. I was a little apprehensive to try this at first because I thought it was just for kids. But, the cast members assured me it is fun for any age and they were right.
In addition to all the pool and beach activities, there were lots of daily activities available in Pau Hana Room (community hall) that I wanted to participate in such as Lei making, ukulele lessons, Animation classes, etc. But, I just ran out of time to try them all. I guess that gives me an excuse to go back again!
